		<description>Regarding the fireplace mystery...don't know if this is helpful but...my grandparents (both sets) lived in 1920's era Chicago bungalows that had the traditional center wall fireplace flanked by mantle level high bookcases.  The fireplace was brick all around with a very small nonworking opening.  Complete with (ceramic?) fake logs!</description>
